Artistic Theme: Design, vision, creativity, originality
3.
Technical Execution: Technique, skill, degree of difficulty, mastery of materials used
The jury will identify which pieces have been accepted and which have been eliminated. Once pieces have been accepted and checked in, CCHA reserves the right to:
1. Hang/display pieces or place them in reserve at its discretion.
2. Hang/display pieces in locations that are deemed suitable.
3. Request additional pieces from artists if their work sells out.
Artists who have registered online through www.artatthemill.artcall.org will receive acceptance details by email. Artists who have registered on paper are asked to include a self-addressed, postage-stamped envelope with the registration so CCHA may provide notification in writing.
Sales Allocation:
The Clarke County Historical Association (CCHA) is a non-profit dedicated to preserving the history of Clarke County, including the Burwell-Morgan Mill. CCHA hosts and administers Art at the Mill.
CCHA receives 40% of the sales price of each piece, which helps fund the continued maintenance and operation of the Burwell-Morgan Mill and the Historical Association as well as the Sarah P. Trumbower Memorial Art Scholarship given annually to a Clarke County student who is pursuing a degree in art. The artist receives 60% of the sale price of each piece. (Please take the percentages into consideration when setting your prices.)

Please observe the following guidelines:
- All works must be framed and finished.
- All works must be ready to hang with screw-eyed hooks and wire upon delivery to the Mill.
- Please label all submissions individually with your name and title of the piece. Each piece MUST have its own label so we may differentiate the works.
- Artwork that is submitted via US Mail, UPS or FedEx will be returned by UPS or FedEx. Please include the appropriate shipping label with your personal FedEx or UPS account information.
Art Pick-Up:
Thursday, May 12 – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Friday, May 13 – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Saturday, May 14 – 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm
Starting this spring, artists will have the opportunity to pick up their unsold artwork on three days. Please note that art pick-up will not commence until the Thursday after the last day of Art at the Mill. This will provide CCHA time to organize and prepare the art so that it can be easily retrieved on the days of pick-up. Additionally, it will allow CCHA to contact those artists who may have sold all their work.
Please observe the following guidelines:
- All artwork that is submitted via US Mail, UPS or FedEx will be returned by UPS or FedEx. Please include the appropriate shipping label with your personal UPS or FedEx account number.
- If you personally checked in your artwork but are unable to personally pick up your unsold pieces during the prescribed pick-up period, they may be returned via UPS or FedEx. A return shipping label or account number must be provided during the registration process.
- Shipped artwork will be returned with insurance for the full value no later than May 31.
- CCHA will make every attempt to work with artists on the return of any unsold artwork. However, any artwork unclaimed after thirty (30) days following the conclusion of the show will become the property of the Clarke County Historical Association (CCHA).
