Terms & Conditions
Art at the Mill Policies:
- Art must be available for exhibition for the duration of the show.
- Art must not have been previously exhibited at an Art at the Mill show. (Exception: If an artist experienced high sales during the show and was asked by CCHA to submit additional pieces, any of these pieces that remained unsold may be resubmitted.)
- If a work of art is sold prior to the show, no substitution may be made.
- If all submissions by an artist are sold, CCHA may contact the artist and offer the opportunity to submit additional pieces.
- Art tags will be generated from the registration information submitted. No changes to art tags (including price, media, title of art) may be made at check-in. Please make sure all of your information is correct prior to submitting your art. Only art tags that have been generated in error (spelling, misprint) may be modified at check-in.
- All paintings and 2D artworks must be framed and finished.
- All paintings and 2D artworks must be ready to hang with screw-eyed hooks and wire upon delivery to the Mill.
- All pieces of art must be labeled individually with the artist’s name and title of the piece.
- Art tags will be generated from the registration information submitted. No changes to art tags (including price, media, title of art) may be made at check-in. Only art tags that have been generated in error (spelling, misprint) may be modified at check-in. Please make sure all of your information is correct during the registration process.
- Once pieces have been accepted and checked in, CCHA reserves the right to hang/display pieces or place them in reserve at its discretion and hang/display pieces in locations that are deemed suitable.
- Artwork that is submitted via US Mail, UPS or FedEx will be returned by UPS or FedEx. Artists must provide the appropriate shipping labels and/or FedEx or UPS account information. Artists who personally checked in artwork but are unable to personally pick up unsold pieces during the prescribed pick-up period may have their work returned by UPS or FedEx. Once again, return shipping labels and/or account numbers must be provided during the registration process.
- Shipped artwork will be returned with insurance for the full value.
- The Clarke County Historical Association (CCHA) will make every attempt to work with artists on the return of any unsold artwork. However, any artwork unclaimed after thirty (30) days following the conclusion of the show will become the property of CCHA.
- The artist retains copyright to his/her image(s). However, accepted images become part of the CCHA archives and may be used for current/future Art at the Mill promotion.
- The Clarke County Historical Association (CCHA) is not responsible for theft or damage of artwork from any cause whatsoever. Artists should insure their own work.
- The Clarke County Historical Association (CCHA) is a non-profit dedicated to preserving the history of Clarke County, including the Burwell-Morgan Mill. CCHA hosts and administers Art at the Mill. CCHA receives 40% of the sales price of each piece, which helps fund the continued maintenance and operation of the Burwell-Morgan Mill and the Historical Association as well as the Sarah P. Trumbower Memorial Art Scholarship given annually to a Clarke County student who is pursuing a degree in art. The artist receives 60% of the sale price of each piece. (Please take the percentages into consideration when setting your prices.)
- Registration is considered complete when the following are submitted by the registration deadline – midnight, Sunday, February 21:
- Registration form (submitted through www.artatthemill.artcall.org, by US Mail or Email to CCHA)
- $40 non-refundable registration fee
- Digital images
- Biography
- W-9
- For shipped art: Return shipping label/account number should you be personally unable to pick up unsold art.
- For paper registrations: Self-addressed, postage-stamped envelope so CCHA may provide written notification of acceptance.
- Signature acknowledging that you have read and accept the policies and procedures.
